Brewery Night at Barcade

Beer fans got the chance to try 18 Brooklyn Brewery treasures on Thursday, February 23rd, at the Barcade in New York City . Barcade is known for their classic arcade games like Punch Out, Galaga, Frogger , and Paperboy. The sweet part was the welcome setting where it feels as if your entering a garage that leads you into what seems like a loft. Along with the hipster ambiance, mixed drinking and classic arcade games, the Barcade is a great place to hang out and meet with friends.

We got the chance to try a number of tasty brewskis and here’s what we think:

Brooklyn Black Chocolate Stout - this delicious beer is heavily brewed dark black with aromas of chocolate and espresso. Its texture is smooth and after consuming a couple sips it felt like I ate my whole dinner.
Brooklyn Mary’s Maple Porter  - another weighty beer that was brewed with maple syrup from Upstate New York. This American style porter gave me a hankering for pancakes.
Brooklyn Pilsner - one of my favorite beers. Golden, light, refreshing with sweet and crisp malt, and hop flavors. I highly recommend it!
Brooklyn Sorachi Ace - don’t let the name fool you, it’s not from Japan. It is a Belgian style Saison with light hop aroma brown sugar and caramel. For those who enjoy light beers, this is one I would not pass up.
Brooklyn Weisse - with the name pronounced “Vice,” this Scottish style ale was the winner for the night. It is no wonder that this roasted malt aroma and flavors of dark fruits, raisins and chocolate made this beer number one.
Now, I’m no beer drinker, but if you’d like to test these beers for yourself check out Barcade at 388 Union Ave in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Be sure to join them on their next vintage beer night Thursday, March 15th!
